<p style="text-align: center;">This year at the Palmer Park Recreation Center, at 2829 Armour St., <br />from 6:30pm to 9pm weekly<br />
On Thursdays</p>
<table style="width: 100%;" border="1">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td width="115">Thur, Feb 17th</td>
<td width="170"><strong>SICKO</strong></td>
<td>Michael Moore’s indictment of our overburdened, insurance dominated health system. Includes comparisons with four other national systems, notably our estranged neighbor Cuba’s.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Thur, Feb 24th</td>
<td><strong>SALT OF THE EARTH</strong></td>
<td>Demonstrates the true value of the term “solidarity” in the persons of a Mexican American mining community in the southwest. A long and difficult strike stresses and unites. Made with a non-professional cast—and labeled the only U.S. blacklisted film of the McCarthy [no relation] Era.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Thur, Mar 3rd</td>
<td><strong>V DAY UNTIL THE VIOLENCE STOPS</strong></td>
<td>Challenging film about the ingrained nature of violence against women, and personal courageous testimonies, from many cultures, of women working to stop it. Uses explicit sexual language in making its message.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Thur, Mar 10th</td>
<td><strong>BEYOND OUR DIFFERENCES</strong></td>
<td>Documentary recommended by our Adrian Dominicans, about the beauty and diversity that unites peoples of many faiths &amp; cultures in one God. </td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td></td>
<td><strong>THE UNIVERSE STORY</strong></td>
<td>Brought to us by our Full Circle of Prayer sisters&#8212; a bold beautiful and challenging look at 13.6 billion years of existence now at a climate tipping point for our planet’s small share of the universal cosmic dust.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Thur, Mar 17th</td>
<td><strong>DR. STRANGELOVE</strong></td>
<td>Stanley Kubrick’s classic feature film portraying the insanity of a nuclear arms race bent on cold war power at all costs—poignant ironic humor at its best, as the earth hangs in the balance while the human foibles of super-strategists burst forth.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Thur, Mar 24th</td>
<td><strong>SEVEN DAYS IN MAY</strong></td>
<td>A complement to the above. Born of the cold war&#8211; points out the lengths to which a military, convinced that it is the prime directive, can go. A plot to assassinate the U.S. president is hatched, and a lone protagonist works to thwart it from within. President Kennedy had read the book, and was certainly concerned. History and art can reflect each other, through a glass darkly.</td>
